Evoke's April 2024 Recap

Want to learn about some of the many things the Evoke Team got up to during April?

At the start of April, the Evoke team had the opportunity to join Aim Higher's 'Sing For Autism' event at Princes Quay in Hull to help raise awareness for National Autism Day.

Aim Higher are a Hull based charity that empower neurodiverse children, young people and their families across Hull and East Riding. They are dedicated to providing neurodiversity, mental health and educational support for families of children and young people aged 0-25 years. With a special focus on autism, Aim Higher strive to create an inclusive and supportive community where every individual can thrive.

With Nevenka and Hayley both getting involved with the group's singing and dancing, and Ben filming the whole event for Aim Higher, it was an amazing event to be a part of.

Another opportunity we had during April was to support Y Focused's Active Impact sessions with students from The Hub at Winifred Holtby Academy at Active Plus, Hull. The sessions throughout the day were set up to help develop employability skills for the students, as well as life skills and meeting new people.

We were able to engage the young students and showcase various educational technology including virtual and augmented reality education kits, where the students discussed their thoughts on how virtual reality can be used in classroom learning, the benefits it could bring to their education, and giving them a tour of some of the kits applications, including ExpeditionsPro - the home of virtual excursions and immersive experiences where you can travel and explore around the world.

We also showcased educational software Lumio on our SMART interactive display - a dynamic and collaborative web-based learning platform. Lumio gives students an interactive learning experience filled with activities, games, group workspaces, formative assessments, and more, all from one single platform.

Actively engage students on any device from anywhere, facilitate digital collaboration with the whole class or small groups, edit and transform existing slides and handouts into hands- on learning, collect and save student progress and provide individualised feedback, and much more.

Throughout the delivered sessions, the groups of students from Winifred Holtby Academy engaged brilliantly and thoroughly enjoyed learning about different forms of educational technologies that can help their learning.

Our installation team were also busy during April, as toward the end of the month they travelled down to a school in Southampton to complete cabling work. Whether you're looking to establish a secure data networking infrastructure, implement high-speed fibre optic connections for enhanced performance, or create a seamless and flexible wireless network, our dedicated team of engineers are equipped with the knowledge and experience to deliver solutions.

From data cabling and wireless network solutions, to sound, lighting, and other audio visual solutions - check out our installation solutions.

In June this year, the Evoke team alongside family and friends are taking part in the Run For All Hull 10K as we fundraise for the Aim Higher charity. Please help us in raising as much as we can - any donation is greatly appreciated by the whole team.
